Siebe is sometimes called “the biggest talent in Belgium” by the domestic press, which is a massive compliment in a country that produces a lot of great youngsters who then go on to fight in the biggest clubs in Europe. This striker can be a very serious competitor to Romelu Lukaku or Christian Benteke in the Diables Rouges squad. On the 6th of December 2012, he made his debut in the UEFA Europa League in a match against FC Basel. He made his league debut on the final day of the 2012/2013 season against Club Brugge replacing the injured Benjamin De Ceulaer at half-time. He scored his first league goal at 19 October 2013 against Lierse. Mario Been is already giving him a decent amount of chances; he made 7 appearances on all levels this year, and he should double this result until the end of the season. It is worth noting that Siebe has represented Belgium in ALL age groups – starting at U-15, he is currently a star in the U-19 national team, alongside other talented guys suck as Divock Origi, Jari Vadeputte or jinty Caenepeel.
“The biggest talent of Belgium U-17 is still in our country: Siebe Schrijvers from Racing Genk.”
(Bob Browaeys – coach of Belgium U-17 national team)
