Ricardo Kishna began his career under small local club VUC Den Haag before joining Eredivisie side ADO Den Haag in their academy set-up as a child. At the age of 14, he was given the opportunity to sign for Ajax after ADO board admitted they had to allow the player to live up to his potential. Kishna has appeared in the UEFA Youth League this season and has subsequently caught the eye of first team manager Frank De Boer and thanks to that he was given an opportunity to be a part of the senior training squad this winter and played his unofficial debut in a friendly against Trabzonspor in Turkey. On 19 February 2014 Frank de Boer announced that Ricardo Kishna was selected as a member of the 18-man squad ahead of the UEFA Europa League match at home against Red Bull Salzburg, marking the first time he would be selected for the first team in a professional match. He then made his professional debut on 20 February 2014 against Red Bull Salzburg, replacing Kolbeinn Sigthórsson in the 60th minute in the 0–3 home defeat.He made his Eredivisie debut for the first team 3 days later in the 4–0 home victory over neighboring AZ, scoring on his league debut in the 61′-minute, after being substituted on for Bojan Krkic in the 46′-minute of the North Holland derby match.
