Andrej Modic and his younger brother Mihael started their careers in Kotor Varos, where AC Milan scouted them while they played in a local youth tournament. Youngsters managed to impress “Rossoneri” scouts and soon after they signed to the famed AC Milan Academy, which has produced players such as Baresi, Maldini, Albertini and Costacurta. Andrej impressed many observers, including former ACM coach Massimiliano Allegri, which gave the youngster a chance to play with the first team during the friendly against Chiasso arranged for Kaka’s return before the season. He has been a very good player in prestigious Viareggio Cup 2014, in which Milan won the whole tournament and Andrej played the full 120 minutes in the final with Anderlecht showing great technical and playmaking skills.
“Andrej Modic is a complete central midfielder who ideally operates as the playmaker in a three-man midfield. After impressing in his first outing with the “A” team, Andrej was instantly placed on the bench for AC Milan’s next champions league match at only 17 years old. AC Milan’s coaches have showed an incredible amount of confidence in the youngster who is tipped to make his San Siro debut in the near future. Andrej’s has remarkable ball control, vision, rare tactical intelligence, and is able to assert himself and control the midfield at will. He is also a current member of the Bosnia-Herzegovina under-19 team and hopefully the senior squad in the future.”
