Description:

Diogo Gonçalves started his career at local club CD Almodôvar. In 2008, he joined Benfica youth academy. He is part of a very strong generation of Benfica players born in 1997. On 14 February 2015, after being promoted from the youth team, he debuted for Benfica B, as a substitute, playing 20 minutes in a home win against Oliveirense in Segunda Liga. He was with Portugal U-17 side at UEFA European Under-17 Championship 2014, in which they made it to the semi-final, but got knocked out by eventual champions – England. Currently, he is a member of “Selecção” U18 team.
