League summary:
Argentine Primera División 2015 (ongoing): 15 matches/0 goals (Boca)
Description:
Rodrigo Bentancur joined the famous Boca Juniors youth academy at the age of only 9 years. He’s currently considered to be one of the biggest prospect in Argentine Primera División. He made his first team debut on 12 April 2015 in a league game against Nueva Chicago, in which he replaced Pablo Pérez after 77 minutes in a 0-0 home draw. In the summer 2015 Juventus sold Carlos Tevez to Boca and – as a part of the transaction – secured an option to buy Rodrigo, who in 2017 will be able to move to Juve for 9,4 € million.
Quotes:
“There are a number of exciting players breaking through at Boca at the moment. Defensive midfielder Adrian Cubas impressed last year and is an outstanding talent while forward Cristian Pavon and midfielder Franco Cristaldo, both 19, have shown flashes of promise. However, it seems that 18-year-old Uruguayan playmaker Rodrigo Bentancur is closest to become a regular feature in the Boca line up. The tall, elegant, multifunctional midfielder has made ten league appearances and is highly regarded by those within the club. Indeed, none other than Juan Roman Riquelme named him as one of his favourite prospects and as part of the Tevez deal Juventus have a first option on him. Bentancur certainly could make a big impression this year.”
