Description:
Filippo Melegoni is a product of Atalanta Bergamo academy – one of the best youth systems in Italy. He is leading the latest wave of young talents that have graduated from Atalanta’s youth academy – others worthy of note include Alessandro Bastoni, Alessandro Mallamo, Emmanuel Latte Lath, Christian Capone and Simone Mazzocchi. This season, thanks to his great performances for Atalanta Primavera side, he was called to join the first team and sat on the bench several times during Serie A and Coppa Italia games. He finally made his professional debut on 22 January 2017 in a league fixture against Sampdoria. He is also a regular youth international for Italy and has already played over 40 games for the youth national teams, which is a very good result for a 17-year old.
