Eguinaldo is a product of Vasco da Gama academy – a youth system that produced many interesting youngsters in recent years such as Douglas Luiz, Paulinho, Evander, Andrey Santos, Rayan, Nathan, Talles Magno, Marrony, Riquelme, Bruno Gomes, Pedrinho, MT, Arthur Sales, and Gabriel Pec.
