Saël Kumbedi joined Le Havre in 2019 after previously playing for PSG and CC Taverny youth academies. He made his professional debut on 13 November 2021 in a 2–0 French Cup win against Vierzon. He showed himself to a wider crowd at the 2022 European Under-17 Championship – he was simply phenomenal throughout the tournament, scored a brace in the final and Les Bleuets deservedly won the tournament showing a superb generation of players like Kumbedi, Mathys Tel, El Chadaille Bitshiabu, Jeanuël Belocian, Valentin Atangana Edoa, Warren Zaire-Emery, Désiré Doué, Mamadou Sarr, and Tom Saettel.
