Ângelo Gabriel is a ‘Menino da Vila’ – youth graduate of a famous Santos academy. He is a part of the new generation of Santos teenagers which includes, among others Kaiky Melo, Marcos Leonardo, Kaio Jorge, Renyer, Gabriel Pirani, Sandry, and Ivonei. Ângelo made his professional debut for Peixe just two days after his 16th birthday on 23 October 2020, coming on as a second-half substitute for Lucas Braga in a 3–1 Campeonato Brasileiro loss against Fluminense. He scored his first professional goal on 6 April 2021, netting his team’s third in a 3–1 Copa Libertadores away win against San Lorenzo – aged 16 years, 3 months and 16 days, he broke Juan Carlos Cárdenas’ record and became the youngest player ever to score in a Libertadores match.
