Description:

Chido Obi joined Arsenal youth academy from Kjøbenhavns Boldklub in 2022. He is considered to be one of the most talented strikers of his generation in Europe. He is a member of an interesting generation of Danish U18s which includes, among others Tobias Lund Jensen, Jonathan Asp, Oscar Schwartau, Oliver Højer, Sebastian Biller Mikkelsen, Cornelius Olsson, Tobias Slotsager, Lasse Abildgaard, Christian Jørgensen, Anders Noshe, Jonatan Lindekilde, Hjalte Bidstrup, Mikel Gogorza, and Lasse Overgaard. He made a significant impact during the 23/24 season for Arsenal’s youth team, scoring an astounding 28 goals in just 16 games in the Premier League U-18. While also being eligible to represent England and Nigeria, Chido is currently one of the leaders of the Danish U-17 national team.

Quotes:

“Right now he is really dominant because of his physique, but I don’t think that is the only reason. His greatest characteristic and challenge is that he really wants to score goals. When I say it can also be a disadvantage, I mean that he can sometimes play his own game. He is searching for chances, where he forgets that you also have to play with the others.”

(Jesper Mikkelsen – Denmark U-17 coach)
