Description:
Daniel Mesonero ‘Meso’ is a 16-year-old midfielder who plays for the U18s (Juvenil B) despite being officially a player from the U17s – Juvenil C. He joined La Fábrica in 2019 from Rayo Vallecano.
His first season was good and he played some good games with Real Madrid’s 2005 generation. Last season he was once again an important player and was one of the technical leaders of Tristan Celador’s (Real Madrid U16 coach last season) team. He brings that technical quality to the midfield, he is very mobile, has a good change of pace, and likes to appear in several areas of the pitch. His first touch, his ball control and his “conducción” are very good and precise. In the final third of the pitch he also has the vision and passing quality to make very accurate passes. Last season he made his debut for Juvenil C (U17) on 14 February 2020 against Atlético Chopera and on that day he made an assist for Yeray.
After the 2020/21 season, Meso should have been with the Juvenil C (U17) but since the start of this season he has been promoted with the U18s – Juvenil B – and he is one of the most important players of the team. He used to be an attacking midfielder but this season he is playing in a deeper role as a defensive midfielder in a double pivot This has allowed him to improve a lot his defensive contribution. His pairing with Marc Cucalón works very well and the two are complementary.
