Eguinaldo is a product of Vasco da Gama academy – a youth system that produced many interesting youngsters in recent years such as Douglas Luiz, Paulinho, Evander, Andrey Santos, Rayan, Nathan, Talles Magno, Marrony, Riquelme, Bruno Gomes, Pedrinho, MT, Arthur Sales, and Gabriel Pec. He made his professional debut for Vasco on 20 July 2022 in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série B game against Ituano. He scored his first goal just 9 days later against CRB. Thanks to his good form in the Brazilian second tier, he recently received his first-ever call-up to the Brazil U-20 national team.
