Description:

Giacomo Faticanti joined the AS Roma youth academy from Frosinone in 2018. He is one of the most talented Italian players of his generation. He is tipped to follow in the footsteps of other famous ‘Giallorossi’ graduates such as Francesco Totti, Daniele De Rossi, Alberto Aquilani, Alessandro Florenzi and Alessio Romagnoli. During the 2020/2021 season, he was the captain and leader of Roma U-17 which won the Italian Championship. He is also a regular youth international and currently he is the youngest member of a very strong Italy U-19 setup – a team with many exciting talents such as Fabio Miretti, Giorgio Scalvini, Marco Nasti, Cesare Casadei, Wilfried Gnonto, Tommaso Baldanzi, Gabriele Mulazzi, Giuseppe Ambrosino, and Samuel Giovane.

Quotes:

“A tough-tackling, hard-running midfielder who has worn the captain’s armband for title-winning sides through multiple age categories at Roma, it is perhaps inevitable that Faticanti should draw comparisons with Daniele De Rossi. He is, after all, coached in the Giallorosso youth team by the former world champion’s dad. Such comparisons are a burden that any young player could do without, but Faticanti has thus far worn them lightly, showing a coolness under pressure and a knack for making smart decisions with the ball even when the spaces are tight and the stakes are raised.”
