Giovani is a product of Palmeiras academy – youth school that produced many talented players in recent years such as Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Veron, Gabriel Menino, Renan, Gabriel Silva, Danilo, Patrick de Paula, Vitão, Fernando, Luan Cândido and Wesley. Giovani made his professional debut for Palmeiras on 3 March 2021 in Campeonato Paulista fixture against Corinthians. He is also a member of a very strong generation of Brazilian players born in 2004 which includes, among others Matheus Nascimento, Matheus França, Kaiky Melo, Emersonn, Vinícius Tobías, Ângelo Gabriel, Mateusão, Sávio and Jhonatan Kauan.
