Guille Fernández joined the famous La Masia from the local rivals Espanyol in 2018. His cousin Toni is also making waves within Barcelona’s youth ranks. Guille is considered to be one of the most promising players of his generation in Europe. On 19 September 2023, Guille made his UEFA Youth League debut against Royal Antwerp becoming Barcelona’s second-youngest player in the competition, just behind Lamine Yamal. 6 months later, he broke another record set by Yamal – at 15 years, 9 months, and 12 days, he became the youngest player ever to make his debut for Barcelona reserves. He is also a regular youth international for Spain – he started at the U-15 level and now he is the youngest member of the U-17 setup.
