Description:

Hussein Carneil was born in Afghanistan but he and his family fled the country when he was 3 years old. He joined the IFK Göteborg youth academy from Skoftebyns IF in 2019. He is a part of a very interesting generation of Swedish players born in 2003 which includes, among others Yasin Ayari, Oscar Vilhelmsson, Jesper Tolinsson, Joel Voelkerling Persson, Ludvig Navik, Casper Widell, Johan Bangsbo, and Emil Roback. Hussein made his professional debut on 20 February 2022 in the Swedish Cup game against Landskrona BoIS. Two months later he made his Allsvenskan debut in a 2–0 win in the derby against BK Häcken.
