Joan Martínez joined La Fábrica, the superb Real Madrid youth academy, in 2023 from Levante. He is a member of a fantastic generation of Spanish players born in 2007 which includes, among others Pau Cubarsí, Lamine Yamal, Paulo Iago, Jesús Fortea, Daniel Yañez, Marc Bernal, Quim Junyent, Juan Hernández, David Otorbi, Landry Farré, and Pol Duran. On November 8, 2023, he made his UEFA Youth League debut in a match against Braga, becoming the second youngest Real Madrid player ever to participate in the competition.
