Luca Băsceanu joined the famous Gheorghe Hagi Football Academy at the age of 5. He is considered to be one of the most talented U17s in Romania. He is one of the leaders of an interesting generation of Romanian players born in 2006 which includes, among others, Enes Sali, David Pacuraru, Luca Szimionas, Rares Tomsa, Andrei Dima, Ianis Tarba, Gabriel Gheorghe, Ioan Vermesan, Rareș Fătu, and Alin Cocoş.
