League summary (as for 11 August 2019):
2.HNL 2018/2019: 18 games/1 goal (Hajduk II)
Description:
Mario Vušković joined Hajduk Split youth academy from RNK Split in 2016. He made his professional debut for Hajduk II on 25 August 2018 in a 2.HNL fixture against NK Dugopolje in which he scored. He is a part of a very talented generation of Croatian players born in 2001 which includes, among others Antonio Marin, Marko Bulat, Tomislav Krizmanić, Tin Hrvoj & Edin Julardžija. In 2018, he featured on a list entitled “TOP 60 young talents in world football” by The Guardian.
Quotes:
“Aged 15 years and three months, he was the youngest member of Croatia Under-17s squad on his debut in February 2017. And then the youngest in the next Under-17s crop as well. “What sets him apart and suggests he might end up playing at an elite level is his unusual set of skills,” says Kresimir Gojun, head of the Hajduk academy. “He’s not just dominant in challenges but also exceptional in buildup play. He often scores goals and can score from free-kicks like a No 10.” Made his debut (and scored) this summer for Hajduk’s reserves in the second division.”
