Mateo Sanabria is a product of Lanús youth academy – a club known for its work with youth which produced many interesting talents in recent years such as José Manuel López, Pedro de la Vega, Tomás Belmonte, Franco Orozco, Lautaro Valenti, Alexandro Bernabéi, Juan Pablo Krilanovich, and Braian Aguirre. Sanabria made his professional debut on 12 February 2022 in a Copa de la Liga Profesional game against Huracán.
