Mattia Mannini joined the AS Roma youth academy from Spezia in 2020. He is considered to be one of the most talented midfielders of his generation in Europe. Mattia is the captain of Italy U-17, an extremely interesting team with many exciting talents such as Simone Pafundi, Filippo Scotti, Gabriel Ramaj, Mattia Liberali, Alessandro Ciardi, Matteo Cocchi, Gabriele Finocchiaro, Federico Ragnoli Galli, Alessandro Ventre, Tommaso Ravaglioli, and Marco Romano. In December 2022, he was the youngest player invited to a training camp by Italy coach Roberto Mancini. Soon after he signed his first professional contract with AS Roma.
