Mohamed Daramy – Copenhagen’s crown jewel by @DanishFootball0
Description
Mohamed Daramy was born in 2002 on the 7th of January in Hvidovre, Denmark, and he has a Sierra Leonean and Danish passports. Daramy started playing football in Hvidovre, and he played for their youth teams up until 2016, when he had attracted attention from the biggest club in Denmark, FC Copenhagen. He joined FC Copenhagen in the summer of 2016, and it did not take long for him to impress despite his young age. His contract was extended in October of 2017, and in that season he scored 18 times in 24 games in the U17 championship, while he also played games for the U19 team and the reserve team. His debut for FC Copenhagen’s 1st team came in September of 2018, when he took part in a cup game at the age of 16. He even scored, which made him the youngest goal scorer in the club’s history. Since then Daramy has been considered one of the biggest talents in Danish football, and he started to get more minutes for the first team. Three years has passed by since his debut for FC Copenhagen, and in that time he has managed to play 90 games while scoring 17 times and providing 9 assists for his teammates, which are incredible numbers considering that he is only 19 and the fact that he plays for arguably the biggest Nordic club. Up until now he has struggled with his end product, but he seems to have massively improved in that area. He has been on fire in the new season, and he has been one of FC Copenhagen’s best players, if not the best.
Playing Style

Mohamed Daramy is a right-footed player who can play anywhere in attack, but he seems to be best on the left wing, where he can cut inside or pass to an overlapping full-back. He is lean and quite tall for a winger as he is 5’11”. He’s extremely quick, which is one of his biggest strengths, and he has very quick feet which allows him to operate in tight spaces, although he is better when given a lot of space to run into. He plays with a lot of confidence, and he is always looking to challenge the defenders, and he is best when dribbling at high speed. You could still argue that he lacks some end product and decisiveness in the final third, but he seems to have added that to his game this season, but consistency is the key for Daramy. He has all the necessary attributes, but he needs to show it regularly.
Future ahead
The new season has just kicked off for FC Copenhagen and Mohamed Daramy, and he has been incredible. This looks to be his breakthrough season, but it is also very likely that it’s his last in the Danish league. He has had interest from abroad for a long time, but it has started to get serious this summer. It has been reported, that Milan were interested, and recently Club Brugge put in a bid of 12 million euro for the young Dane. With his recent form it is unlikely that FC Copenhagen accepts that bid, but it will be tough for them to keep a hold of Daramy for much longer considering the level he is showing at only 19. The future looks very bright for Mohamed Daramy.
