Txus Alba by Piotr Guziński
Txus Alba born in 2003, is another very talented midfielder at La Masia. He joined FC Barcelona in the summer of 2018 from Espanyol when we paid 50,000 euros for his transfer. Last summer, he extended his contract with Barcelona until 2022 and currently his release clause is 6 million euros.
Style of play and position
Txus can play in the position of an offensive and central midfielder. The 17-year-old can also appear in the line of attack and in this season he played one match as the central forward. Alba also often appears on the wing. He’s one of the most technical players in La Masia. He has a very good body balance, can win duels, he is creative, always looking for opportunities to play balls between lines. He is a clever footballer who can work in pressing and hit from a distance. One of his biggest advantages is that he’s two-footed. The Spaniard is also great at playing balls behind the backs of the defenders. I will add that set-pieces are also one of his strengths. He can also enter from the second line and score goals. He can control the pace of the match and speed up the actions of the team. Often he also plays long balls. Txus is also fast and has a quick foot. He can still be better in defense and sometimes has to work on his decision making, but I see that he is making good progress in these aspects. He’s a midfielder with Barca’s DNA. In my opinion, he resembles Iniesta, Isco and David Silva in some aspects. However, it’s hard for me to find only one player to whom I would compare Txus.
Txus Alba is another great midfielder at La Masia. He's currently having fantastic season. In this and last league season he scored 11⚽️.

This season
Alba is currently outstanding at Juvenil B where he scored 8 goals. He also has many assists – at the end of November, I counted 8 assists, which is a very good number. Now he certainly has a double number of final passes. He also made his debut in the U-18 team of Spain, where he took part in two friendly matches. He also played 1764 minutes in this league season at Juvenil B and this is the highest number. Key in his team.
Next season
Txus will be part of Juvenil A next season and we will be able to watch him in the UEFA Youth League. Furthermore, I can even imagine his debut at Barca B. Alba will be part of a very talented team, which will include Pablo Paez Gavi, Diego Almeida, Ilias Akhomach, Angel Alarcon, Marc Casado, Chadi Riad, Brian Pena, Arnau Sola, Diego Lopez or Alejandro Balde. I expect a lot from him and I have to admit that Juvenil A will be a very, very interesting team next season.
