Yunus Akgün is a product of Galatasaray youth academy. He belongs to a very talented 2000 Turkish generation which includes, among others, Ozan Kabak, Abdussamed Karnucu, Sefa Akgün, Recep Gül, Atalay Babacan & Malik Karaahmet. He showed himself to a wider crowd at the 2017 European Under-17 Championship, where where he was one of the best players of Turkish national team that unexpectedly made it to the semi-final, but got knocked out by a very strong England team.
