League summary:

Primera Division 2013/2014 (ongoing): 3 matches/0 goals (Villarreal CF)

Mathias Nahuel is perhaps one of the most exciting youth players that appeared in La Liga recently. Nahuel moved to Spain at the age of just 15, joining Villarreal’s youth setup. He made his senior debut with the C-side in the 2012–13 season, in Tercera División, and also appeared occasionally for the reserves during that first campaign. In the current season, he played very well in the B-team and got a chance to train with the first team as well. A debut in the first team came on January 13th 2014, where he played 23 minutes in a home rout of Real Sociedad in Primera Division. Now this young talented player should be getting more chances from coach Marcelino. He has a dual-citizenship: Argentinian and Spanish, so the matter of his national team allegiance is rather open, although few days ago he was called up to play for Spain U-19 team.

“Many people see him as the new Messi.”
