Luis Olivera is a product of River Plate’s academy, La Escuela de Fútbol River Plate, famous for having produced many Argentinian internationals such as Hernán Crespo, Matías Almeyda, Ariel Ortega, Marcelo Gallardo, Santiago Solari, Javier Saviola, Pablo Aimar, Martín Demichelis, Andrés D’Alessandro, Javier Mascherano, Gonzalo Higuaín and Erik Lamela. Luis made his league debut on 8 November 2015 against Newell’s Old Boys, coming on as a second-half substitute for Leonel Vangioni. On the international level he has represented his country in many youth football tournaments such as 2013 South American Under-15 Football Championship, 2015 South American Under-17 Football Championship and 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup.
