Alan Matturro is considered to be one of the most talented youngsters in Uruguay and the most talented young defender since Ronald Araújo. He is a product of Defensor Sporting academy – a club known for its work with youth which produced many interesting talents in recent years such as Maxi Gómez, Giorgian de Arrascaeta, Mauro Arambarri, Joaquín Piquerez, and Emiliano Gómez.
