Vaclav Cerny was chosen as the “talent of the year” in Czech Republic for two consecutive years – 2012 and 2013. His first footbaling steps were taken at FK Pribram, but already as a teenager he was being scouted by teams such as Chelsea, HSV, Juventus, Man City, Man Utd or FC Bayern. In 2013, he played for Ajax in a very prestigious youth tournament Aegon Future Cup, where he showed off his best abilities, scored 3 goals and was joint-top scorer with Aron Leya Iseka from Anderlecht. Due to formal issues, he officially joined “Joden” on 1 January 2014. Currently he is one of the most promising young talents at Ajax. He has already played nearly 40 games in different age groups of the Czech Republic national team. It is worth of note that he made his debut in the U-17 national team at the age of 14! Currently he represents the Czech Republic at U-19 level.

“Truly a great talent, and such a smart player.”

(Frank de Boer – Ajax Amsterdam manager)
