Jhon Durán is a product of Envigado FC youth academy – a club that raised many great footballers in the past including James Rodríguez, Jhon Córdoba, and Juan Fernando Quintero. Jhon made his professional debut for Envigado aged only 15 years and 28 days on 10 February 2019 in a league fixture against Alianza Petrolera. He scored his first goal seven months later against Rionegro Águilas becoming the second-youngest player ever to score in the Colombian league.
